The Greenskeeper I provides daily and seasonal maintenance for the The Loop & Chaska Town Golf Courses, including its structures, grounds, and entrance roads.
|
RESPONSIBILITIES
|
|
1. Provides mowing and trimming of City’s golf course property, including proper maintenance of bunkers and other course hazard areas.
|
|
2. Identifies course turf conditions and disease and responds accordingly, including the calibration and application of fertilizers and pesticides.
|
|
3. Assists in the maintenance and repair of course equipment and irrigation system, including sprinklers and associated parts.
|
|
4. Maintains all course structures and buildings (i.e. clubhouse, practice facility).
|
|
5. Interacts with public, including course users and residents whose property borders on course; responds to concerns and questions regarding course maintenance.
|
|
6. Assists with supervision of seasonal and part-time crew members.
|
|
7. Occasional assistance with the Chaska Town Course.
|
|
8. Assists other departments as needed and as municipal employee maintains flexibility for on-call status.
|
|
9. Performs snow removal through use of tractors, trucks, snowplows, and snow loaders.
|
|
10. Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.
|
Education and Experience
· High School Diploma or G.E.D.
· 1 or more years of greenskeeper experience desired
Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Class B MN Driver’s License desired
- Ability to obtain Minnesota Pesticide Applicator’s License
- Prior experience using light equipment and golf course motorized maintenance vehicles
- Available for seasonal overtime requirements
- Mowers, trimmers, weed whips, woodchipper
- Sprinkler system
- Hand tools
- Snow removal equipment including plows, blowers, shovels

Physical Demands
- Proper and safe operation of both light and heavy equipment and tools
- Varying and some prolonged periods of riding, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, climbing, balancing, and lifting, carrying and moving objects 50+ lbs.
Working Conditions
- Outside in seasonal weather conditions, usually summer
- Golf course hazards including stray golf balls or clubs in play, uneven vehicle paths and course bunkers
