Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Manitou Ridge Golf Course is accepting applications for an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Manitou is a public, Ramsey County owned, par 71, that was built in 1929 and originally was called Gall’s Golf Club.

We just completed a renovation in the Fall of 2026; new Toro Osmac irrigation system, reconstructed bunkers; renovated four greens; new forward tees and new and rebuilt cart paths. There are a few loose ends, including growing in 14 new tee boxes.

We are looking for someone who is committed to Manitou to assist the superintendent with:

• ·         Golf course set up; anything from cutting cups to mowing to pesticide applications
• ·         Training, scheduling, supervising seasonal staff
• ·         Fertilizer and pesticide applications; not limited to applying but also record keeping and equipment calibration
• ·         Growing in tees and help restore other areas from the renovation
• ·         Helping maintain our irrigation system
• ·         Working weekends and supervising by yourself when the time is right

Qualifications

• ·         At least one year of turf maintenance experience
• ·         Some type of turf, horticulture, or landscape degree or certificate; would help but not necessarily needed
• ·         Good work ethic, positive attitude and good communication skills
• ·         Have the ability to work mornings, weekends and holidays
• ·         Obtain Pesticide applicator’s license within 6 months of hire
• ·         Valid Driver’s license

Expected Hours to work

• ·         8 hours/day
• ·         1 weekend of work every 3 weeks
• ·         No overtime unless it’s your weekend to work or approved by Supervisor
• ·         9-10 month position
