Midland Hills Country Club is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Equipment Manager. The club has a progressive focus on the management of its golf course, and the resources necessary to care for it. We are looking for a self-motivated, detail and team-oriented individual, with a passion for their craft. The Assistant Equipment Manager will work with the Head Equipment Manager in repairing and maintaining all golf course equipment. This position is flexible with days and hours worked (24-40 hours/week), as well as flexible in regard to seasonality. We are also willing to train any qualified candidate that possesses the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts, and repairs mechanical defects/failures of equipment fleet, including diesel, electric, and gasoline powered equipment to ensure optimum performance
- Communicate with Equipment Manager and Superintendent on set-up and status of fleet
- Repair, sharpening, and managing height/quality of cut on all reel and rotary equipment
- Ordering parts, tracking inventory, managing fuel and oil purchases/disposals
- Daily equipment check-ins, as well as spot checking equipment for performance in field
- Instructs staff regarding safe equipment operation, daily maintenance, and proper cleaning
- Oversees a safe, clean, organized facility, with desire for continual improvements
- Assists with continual development of equipment replacement plan
- Develops and maintains equipment and supply vendor relationships
- Performs equipment operation during aerification if/when needed
- Be available for winter snow removal on-call schedule
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, with strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems
- Able to stay within, and track monthly budgets, as well as individual equipment repair logs
- Take part in physical activity including lifting, sitting, standing, walking, crouching
- Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds for a length of 20 feet
- Welding and fabrication competency
- Possession of valid MN driver’s license
- Self-motivated, punctual, strong attention to detail, and willingness to be part of a team
Salary and Benefits
- $25+/hour (DOE) with paid OT over 40 hours
