Lead Equipment Mechanic
Reports to the Golf Course Superintendent or the Assistant Superintendent
Complete a Preventative Maintenance Log for all equipment
Maintain an organized, safe and clean workplace in and around the facility
Communicate with the Golf Course Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent any needs concerning equipment breakdowns or maintenance needed. Whenever possible discuss ahead of time so that equipment repair and maintenance can be scheduled.
Spot check mowers while in operation on the golf course and make emergency repairs as needed. Schedule time each morning to be on the Golf Course evaluating mowers, quality of cut and any issues.
Ability to interact and communicate with co-workers, managers and other team members to successfully perform the daily assignment
Responsible for continuing education of all employees in terms of equipment use and standards.
High School graduate or equivalent GED
Trade school training as a small engine mechanic preferred
Golf Course experience (2+ years)
Knowledge of maintenance, repair and sharpening of reel and rotary cutting units
Knowledge of gasoline, diesel, and 2 cycle engines including Tier 4 standards
Must be well versed in reel maintenance. Spin grinding, bed knife facing, and general knowledge of reel unit dynamics.
Welding experience a plus.

Benefits include: Compensation $17-$22/hr/DOE, Medical, vacation, Retirement match, Continuing education. Flexible to work weekends, holidays. Must be able to change shifts to deal with equipment downtime and needed repairs.
Will consider part time or flex schedule.
