Stillwater Country Club is looking to fill the position of Lead Assistant Superintendent. Celebrating its 100-year anniversary last year, SCC’s maintenance of the golf course has a storied history. Located above the small town of Stillwater, SCC offers amazing terrain for our 18-hole course. We always strive to be better and we are looking for an individual who shares that passion, looks for the small things, and provides SCC the best conditioned course on a daily basis. This position is being hired to follow in the footsteps of our current long-term superintendent who will be retiring during the 2028 season.

What is expected from the Lead Assistant:

• Understand the SCC Standards and Expectations document as this will prepare you for the season

• Strong staff leadership, management, training on equipment safety, proper cutting techniques, etc. is essential for this position

• Irrigation repair and maintenance • In-House renovation projects (in-season and off-season)

• Qualified to spray Pesticide and Fertilizer and have the proper knowledge to apply (Licensed in MN)

• Daily disease scouting and diagnose then mitigate

• Schedule staff on a 2-week routine

• Understand the importance of aerification, grooming, tinning, and top-dressing and properly perform these procedures when scheduled

• Daily course setup offering variety or train the staff to understand

• Tournament preparation and work with the Golf Staff on a daily basis to report news

• Snow removal during the off season (parking lot and around clubhouse to all doors)

• Help with equipment maintenance and repair during the off season

We would like to have this position filled by March 1, 2026. As stated earlier, this position has an end date where you will become the next Superintendent of SCC during the season of 2028. Having a degree in Turf Management or Agronomy is highly recommended. Understanding the game and rules associated with the game are important as well. The salary range for this position will be from $60,000 - $67,000 depending on your qualifications and expertise.
