. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is now accepting applications for the position of GOLF COURSE SEASONAL PARKKEEPER at Columbia Golf Course.
Under supervision of a Golf Course Foreman, the Parkkeeper performs turf
maintenance and other maintenance work at Columbia Golf Course.
This is a seasonal position between approximately April 15 and October
15. These positions do not carry medical benefits, vacation or sick
leave.
Job Duties (include but are not limited to the following):
- Operate a variety of specialized lawn mowers designed for golf courses, including riding greens mowers, walking greens mowers, tee mowers, and fairway mowers. - Operate a variety of trimming equipment including weed whips, brush cutters, hand saws, pruning sheers, and hand sheers. - Operate a variety of other equipment such as top dressers, runabouts, golf carts, trap rakes, fertilizer spreaders, boom sprayers, hand sprayers, cup cutters, drag mats, rakes, and shovels. - Adjust mower heights, sharpen mower blades and perform general cleaning and maintenance for other equipment. - Perform a variety of daily job tasks including but not limited to: applying fertilizers and pesticides, seed propagation, sodding, planting flowers and shrubs, and watering; performing repair and installation for irrigation systems; performing installation and repair of fencing; raking traps, moving tee markers and hole location on greens, and picking up trash.
Working Conditions: Outside in all types of weather conditions and on
all types of terrain. Will work with chemicals including pesticides and
fertilizers (necessary protective gear provided). Must be able to work
a variety of shifts during the weekdays and weekends, which may include
morning, daytime and evening hours.
Wages: $11.93/hourly

Stone Ridge is a semi-private golf
club located in Stillwater and opened in 2000. It is an
18-hole links-style course designed by Bobby Weed. The golf
course was built out of a sand and gravel mine with very large
greens and fairways. Stone Ridge features L-93 creeping
bentgrass greens, tees, and fairways and is the highest rated
daily-fee course in the metro area by Golf Digest.
Responsibilities: We will be

Irrigation Technician. The irrigation tech at Bully Pulpit will be asked to oversee most repairs, adjustment, and maintenance of the irrigation system at our facility. He/she needs to be very self motivated, and able to work alone the majority of the time. The IT (irrigation tech) will be asked to keep accurate records of all our inputs into the system, maintain a well stocked and complete inventory, monitor overly wet and/or dry conditions around the golf course. Working knowledge of golf course irrigation a plus, but we will train. Any electrical experience also a benefit, but not necessary.
Projects in near future: Add/move quick couplers around all putting surfaces to create a consistent design allowing all employees to know where to look without a map. We will also be doing a bit of irrigation renovation on some of our tees and other areas to become more efficient in our irrigation cycles.

Northland Country Club was established in 1899. The golf course was designed by Donald Ross and opened for play in 1926. The course measures 6,825 yards and features bentgrass/Poa annua greens, tees, and fairways. Northland is ranked the 86th best classic golf course in America by Golfweek magazine and 12th best course in Minnesota by Golf Digest. The golf course is located less than one mile from Lake Superior and features spectacular views of the Lake from many holes.
