Golden Eagle Golf Club
in Fifty Lakes, MN is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Superintendent.  Golden Eagle is a public 18-hole championship lay-out in the Brainerd Lakes area with bentgrass greens & tees and Kentucky bluegrass fairways.  This is currently a seasonal position but could become a full-time salaried position.  This position is available immediately and is open until filled.

 

Responsibilities:

Application and documentation of pesticides and fertilizers.

Supervise, train, and schedule seasonal staff.

Assist in repair and maintenance of the Rainbird irrigation system.

Assist and perform all daily maintenance and cultural practices.

Assist in the ongoing environmental testing program.

 

Minimum qualifications:

Completed or progress toward completion of a 2-year, turf-related degree.

Golf course experience preferred, landscape maintenance experience acceptable.

Valid Minnesota Drivers License.

Minnesota pesticide applicators license or the ability to obtain one.

Skid-steer experience a plus.

Viking Meadows Golf Club, in Cedar, MN is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.  Viking Meadows Golf Club is a public 27-hole facility: 18-hole championship course, and 9-hole executive course.  The course is located approximately 25 minutes north of Minneapolis.  The courses are made up of bent/poa greens and bluegrass fairways and tees.  A 2 or 4 year degree or certificate in Turf or related field.  Previous golf course experience required. Perham Lakeside Golf Club, in Perham, MN is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
  Perham Lakeside Golf Club is a 27-hole public golf course consisting of the Oak (measures 3450 yards), Maple (measures 3220 yards), and Pine (measures 3525) Golf Courses.  The original 9-holes were established in 1946, with 9 additional holes added in 1989, and the final 9 holes completed in 1999.  The greens are bent/poa; tees and fairways are blue/rye mix.  Perham is located in the heart of lakes country in Otter Tail County about an hour east of Fargo, ND, hour north of Alexandria, MN, and hour west of Brainerd, MN on Highway 10.  Perham is a popular resort/tourist destination with 1,000+ lakes located in the area.

Duties:  Assistant Superintendent will be involved in all aspects of golf course management including but not limited too:
- Scheduling, training, and supervising seasonal staff.
- Assist in the repair and operation of a Toro automatic irrigation system.
- Chemical and fertilizer applications including calibrations and record keeping.
- Assist with equipment set-up, maintenance, and repair.
- General golf course set-up and routine maintenance.

Qualifications:
   2 or 4 year degree in turf management or related degree.
- 3-4 years of prior golf course experience are preferred.
- Experience with pesticide and fertilizer applications including knowledge of Floratine products.
- Minnesota Pesticide Applicators License or the ability to obtain one.
- Prior experience in irrigation repair and operation.
- Some experience with the maintenance and repair of golf course equipment is preferred.
- Candidate should also have a strong knowledge of golf, a great work ethic, and possess a positive, energetic, and flexible attitude.


Benefits:

Wages:

Golden Valley Golf and Country Club
is now accepting applications for the position of Golf Course Technician, available immediately.  This is a full-time, year-round position.  GVGCC is located five miles west of Minneapolis in the suburb of Golden Valley.  The club was founded in 1914.  It has an A. W. Tillinghast designed golf course, nine tennis courts and swimming pool.  Annual rounds are about 22,000.   The course has bent/poa greens and fairways and bentgrass tees.  A fully automatic Toro irrigation system was installed in 2008.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurate calibration, application and record keeping of fertilizers and pesticides.  (Must demonstrate the ability to perform calculations related to pesticide and fertilizer applications.)
  • Ability to obtain Minnesota Pesticide Applicator’s license.
  • Support superintendent and assistants’ golf course maintenance responsibilities.
  • Identification and control of turfgrass disease and stress.
  • Assist with irrigation repair and maintenance.
  • Assist with employee equipment operation and safety training.

Salary:

Job Summary: The Equipment Manager reports to the Golf Course Superintendent, oversee all golf course equipment, and the equipment shop area.
